GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q:  Can I use copy-written music in my slideshow?  Is it legal?

A:  It is safe to say almost all music has a copyright.  In order to use copy-written music in your slideshow, you must supply the original CD or purchase a copy from any legal download site. Digitally Yours cannot provide any music.

When you purchase a song, either on CD or as a legal download, you acquire the rights to make one backup copy of that song for your personal use.

As we work with your project, we assume that the slideshow we are making with your song constitutes as your legal backup copy of this song.

Under copyright laws, we can then use the song in your video slideshow as long as:

·         The video slideshow is only for viewing privately by family and friends.

·         Admission will not be charged to see the slideshow

·         The slideshow and DVD will not be mass produced

·         The slideshow will not be resold or recopied

·         The slideshow has no impact of the market for the copyrighted work

If you still have questions, please contact us for more information.

Q:  I am still unsure about copy-written music.  Can I use royal-free music?

A:  Yes, you can use royal free music.  Digitally Yours does not provide any royal free music, however you have that option available to you.
